RE.NUEVO is a tool for secondhand shops. You photograph an item; we identify it, write the listing in four languages, price it from comparable listings, post it on every Swiss marketplace, collect the buyer messages in one inbox and take it down everywhere once it sells. The goal is simple: the things in a shop that never go online because listing them costs more than they are worth should go online anyway.
We started in 2026 with two products, deal alerts for buyers and assisted cross-listing for sellers. Then we visited thirty secondhand shops across German-speaking Switzerland and listened. Shop owners did not want help writing listings; they did not want to write listings at all. So we rebuilt RE.NUEVO around the photo, for shops. The buyer alerts stayed, because the listings they watch are the same data our prices come from.
Who we are
We are two founders who met at ETH Zurich. Jacopo Bottoni studied physics (MSc, ETH Zurich). He built the pricing model and spends most of his week in shops, setting up pilots and listening to owners. Michael Galli studied systems biology (MSc, ETH Zurich). He builds the data pipelines that collect, clean and match listings, and before RE.NUEVO founded and ran a non-profit.
What we bring is a scientific way of working applied to a very practical problem: statistics and modelling for the prices, data engineering for the pipelines, machine learning for reading photos and writing listings, and the habit of measuring before deciding. What we are still learning is retail. That is why we start with pilot shops rather than a sign-up button, and why we are looking for a third founder who has sold to shops before.
What it runs on
Every day we collect the listings from the platforms we post to, refresh the pricing model and calibrate it per platform, because the same item does not fetch the same price on Ricardo as on tutti. A listing is priced from the comparable items actually sold or on sale, not from a guess. Platform fees are handled per platform, so a shop receives the same amount wherever the item sells. The same data powers the deal alerts for private buyers on this site.

RE.NUEVO is a brand of dotted space GmbH, founded in Zurich in September 2026 and recognised as a start-up company of ETH Zurich. What's next
Right now we are running pilots with secondhand shops in German-speaking Switzerland and taking on more. Next come French-language listings and shops in Romandie, then professional sellers on the platforms, then the German-speaking countries around us, each with its own classifieds.
